I left for a long visit to Africa. My first stop – Amsterdam, then on to Monrovia, Liberia.
I arrived late at night – around 11 pm. I was greeted by Cyrus Numbeh, and John Kollie of ICPM (Interior Church Planting Ministries), and my wonderful driver, care of CRCA and Dennis and Vania Aggrey.
After clearing customs – the journey was pleasant, I was delivered to CRCA and was given an apartment to stay in for the week. A huge – Tremendous blessing. Queen size bed, separate bathroom and shower – With Hot Water !!! – a living room area and a little kitchenette – mostly a refrigerator and a sink.
After a nice long sleep, I greeted the day with a wonderful breakfast of usually some kind of porridge, maybe some eggs, and always fruit. Pineapple, Bananas, Papaya, pretty standard fare. And oh yes – don’t forget the coffee! The coffee in Liberia as well as in Uganda is generally bitter. I think it’s predominantly because they don’t know how to best roast their beans and also in the amount of coffee they use. Note to Self !!! – the café bustello instant packets were a huge blessing. Plan on 2 packets per day for future trips.
